Vaillant ecoFIT Pure 830 Review

A Vaillant ecoFIT Pure boiler in the kitchen, wall mounted next to a fridge

Today we’ll review the ecoFIT Pure 830. This is a 10-minute read. So if you’re short on time, read our quick summary below, and bookmark this page for later.

In Summary: Should You Buy The Vaillant ecoFIT Pure 830?

In our ecoFIT 830 review, you’ll see that this unit is a high-end combi boiler. Yet it’s priced just above the mid-range; £2,250-£3,000 including installation. Exact price will depend on job complexity, as well as which output boiler you need (25kW, 30kW or 35kW).

It’s highly efficient (94%), meaning the average property upgrading from an old and inefficient D-rated boiler is likely to save around £220 per year.

The compact design means it’s perfect for small space installations, particularly when it’s wall-hung in a kitchen cupboard. And being compatible with a range of Vaillant’s own-brand heating controls, you’ll have options suited to every budget.

Most importantly, the ecoFIT Pure comes with up to 10-years warranty when fitted by a Vaillant Advance installer; much higher than the average boiler.

With over 20,000 reviews on Trustpilot, Vaillant is one of the best brands in the heating industry, and the ecoFIT is one of their flagship products.

Prices

Below we’ll discuss Vaillant ecoFIT 830 prices; both boiler only and inclusive of installation.

Boiler Only

The Vaillant ecoFIT Pure 830 is available in 3 sizes:

  • 25kW
  • 30kW
  • 35kW

As with any unit, the prices for your Vaillant boiler will depend on which size you choose. The bigger the boiler? The more it’s going to cost.

Here are typical prices for the ecoFIT Pure 830 when looking around online plumbing merchants, based on size (excluding installation):

  • 25kW: £1,150
  • 30kW: £1,250
  • 35kW: £1,375

As a premium boiler with an exceptionally long warranty, this is slightly higher than average. A typical combi boiler with a 5-year warranty (the ecoFIT comes with up to 10), would be around £950-£1,150.

However, the extended warranty makes the ecoFIT worth the minimal additional cost.

Our clickable boiler installation tool will offer up multiple options from a range of brands, based on your property specs.

Installation Cost

Prices for installation of the ecoFIT Pure 830 will vary depending on:

  • Which size unit you choose (25kW, 30kW, 35kW)
  • If your pipework needs upgrading
  • The type of thermostat you choose to have installed

Typically, we’d expect Vaillant ecoFIT boiler prices - including installation - to be in the region of £2,250-£3,000.

As part of the installation cost, we’ll include:

  • Installation of your new boiler, including electrics and pipework
  • Removal of your old boiler
  • Any property modifications needed to install the boiler flue
  • Installation of a new thermostat
  • Commissioning your new system
  • Warranty registration

Why Buy The ecoFIT Pure 830?

Now you know how much a Vaillant ecoFIT boiler is likely to install, should you actually buy it?

Below are the top features of the Vaillant Pure 830.

Highly Efficient (94%)

The ecoFIT Pure 830 works at 94% efficiency, which is inline with the most efficient boilers available in the UK.

Highly efficient A-rated boilers like the Vaillant ecoFIT will save you £100s on your energy bills, as illustrated by this graphic from the Energy Saving Trust

A chart of annual savings when you switch from an older boiler to a new one

If you’re using a boiler that’s around 10-years old, there’s a good chance it’s D-rated or worse. For the average detached house, upgrading to an A-rated boiler could mean savings of up to £220 per year.

These figures are based on using your new A-rated Vaillant boiler alongside both a room thermostat and thermostatic radiator valves.

Put simply, fitting the Vaillant ecoFIT Pure, could mean that energy savings cover a large portion of your boiler’s upfront cost.

Using our clickable new boiler tool here, you’ll be able to get not only fixed prices on-screen, but estimates on exactly how much you could save on your gas bill.

Compact Design

Stuck for space? You’ll want a compact boiler, and that’s exactly what the Vaillant ecoFIT Pure 830 is.

A typical boiler will need to be wall hung, and will need a purpose built cupboard in order to “box” it in; it won’t fit in a standard sized kitchen cupboard.

The ecoFIT is small:

  • Height: 700mm
  • Width: 390mm
  • Depth: 295mm

And that means you’ll be able to fit it in a kitchen cupboard!

Up To 10-Year Warranty

In all of our boiler reviews we emphasise the importance of warranty. Not only does a long warranty protect you from expensive repair bills in the future, but it gives an indication of what a brand thinks of their own products.

The average boiler comes with a 2-5 year warranty; we’d not suggest anything below 5-years.

The ecoFIT 830 comes with 2-years as standard. However, if you use a Vaillant Advance installer, you’ll see that the manufacturer’s warranty will be bumped up to a massive 10-years.

From many other brands, you’d pay £100s in additional fees to get an extended warranty of 10-years!

Multiple Outputs Available

The ecoFIT Pure from Vaillant is available in 3 variations of output: 25kW, 30kW and 35kW. This means there’s an option suited to nearly every small-medium sized property.

The 25kW and 30kW units are suited to properties using 10-15 radiators and one shower. However, depending on your exact property’s spec’s, the 35kW may be suitable for up to 15 radiators and 2 showers.

Flow rates on offer are up to 14.1 litres per minute, and all units offer instantaneous hot water, leading to minimal water wastage; no reason to run taps and wait!

Boiler sizing isn’t a one size fits all approach, as each property is different. To see what the most suitable kW Vaillant boiler for your property is, you’ll want to use our clickable boiler installation tool here.

Compatible With A Range of Heating Controls

Heating controls vary in price, as well as functionality. Luckily, the ecoFIT Pure 830 is compatible with a large range of heating controls.

Vaillant offer their own branded controls that are suitable for use with the ecoFIT including:

  • timeSWITCH 150 - The simplest and cheapest way to control heating in your home
  • VRT 350 - A heating control system suitable for flats and apartments
  • sensoHOME - An aesthetically pleasing smart thermostat, the best way to control your heating and hot water
