01. Most asked

How much does a new boiler cost?

A new boiler can cost between £1,995 and £3,500, depending on the type and size suitable for your home. We offer flexible financing options to help spread the cost.

Who are your installers?

All of our installers are Gas Safe registered and local to you. They have all been checked and their qualifications verified before joining our installation partners. This includes ensuring they have the right experience and insurance in place.

We're proud of the quality of our work and so all of our boiler installations come with a 12-month workmanship warranty, free of charge. We'll take care of your home and if anything goes wrong we are here to help.

Do you install boilers at the weekend?

Yes! We install nationwide on Saturdays and can normally install next day if you order before 12pm. Get a fixed price boiler quote in two minutes and we'll check availability in your area.

Do you install in my area?

The answer is almost definitely yes. We install boilers nationwide (excluding Northern Ireland).

We know when a boiler breaks down getting a replacement is often pretty urgent so we even offer next day installations if you order before 12pm Monday to Friday.

Our online quote tool takes a couple of minutes and you'll be able to see all of our availability right from the tool. Go ahead and get a fixed price quote.

What do I need to do ahead of my installation day?

Before your installer arrives, make sure the area around your boiler is clear, especially removing any valuables or fragile items. Our installers will cover areas where they are working and clean up before the leave.

Unless we tell you otherwise, your new boiler will be delivered between 7.30am and 10.30am on the day of installation. Your engineer will arrive between these times as well.

How long does a boiler take to install?

Every installation is slightly different but usually within 6 hours if we are installing your new boiler in the same place. If you're converting from a system boiler or regular boiler to a combi then this can take up to 2 days. It's the same for a back boiler to combi conversion.

If you've asked us to move the boiler to a different room or floor in your home then typically it will take 2 days to complete the installation. We'll work with you to make sure disruption is kept to a minimum.

Will a boiler installation make a mess of my home?

We aim to keep disruption to a minimum. Before the installation starts, our installer will walk you through the plan and make sure you are happy. This is particularly important if we are relocating your boiler or converting from one type of boiler to another. In these cases, we'll typically need to install new pipework, so we'll check with you first to see if you are happy.

Before they leave, they will clean up and walk you through the work completed. If you are happy, they will ask you to sign off on the installation.

02. Types of boilers

How do I tell what type of boiler I have?

The four main types of boilers typically found in British homes are combi, system, regular and back boilers.

A combi boiler is found in over 70% of homes. The easiest way to tell if you have this type is you won't have a hot water tank. The boiler heats water when you turn your taps on.

If you have a system boiler you'll have a hot water tank and probably live in a fairly modern home. Regular boilers also have a hot water tank but they also have a second tank in your loft full of cold water.

Finally back boilers are becoming rarer and rarer. The boiler will normally be behind a fireplace in your living room.

What is a combi boiler?

A combi boiler is a compact, all-in-one unit that provides both heating and hot water on demand. It's ideal if you are short on space as it doesn't need a separate water tank. If you're thinking of switching to a combi boiler we'll help you check your water pressure is suitable.

What is a system boiler?

A system boiler heats your home and provides hot water stored in a cylinder. It's great for larger homes with multiple bathrooms.

What is a regular boiler?

A regular boiler, also known as a conventional boiler, works with a separate hot water cylinder and cold water storage tank (often found in your loft). It's ideal for homes with traditional heating systems.

What is a back boiler?

A back boiler is an older type of boiler that sits behind a fireplace and uses the heat from the fire to provide central heating and hot water. It's less common in modern homes but can still be found in some properties.

What are Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs)?

Thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) control the temperature of individual radiators, allowing you to adjust the heat in each room separately. They help improve energy efficiency and comfort in your home.

03. What's included

Are your prices really fixed?

Yes, they are.

When using our fixed price quote tool we need you to be as accurate as you can, but don't worry there are no tricky questions.

If it looks like your boiler might be in a hard to access location we'll ask to give you a call before we firm up the quote - but for most people we won't need to do that.

All of our new boiler installations come with a chemical flush (to make sure your system is nice and clean). Plus, we also include new heating controls when they are needed, a new flue, filter and if there are any upgrades needed to your pipework to bring them up to the latest safety standards, we'll also cover that.

Will you flush my current heating system?

Yes. All of our new boiler installations come with a free chemical flush using cold water.

We don't offer power flushing. This is where a special machine is used to flush your radiators at high pressure. It is only needed if your radiators have really poor performance and you cannot replace them. We don't recommend power flushing in most cases as it can cause leaks and cause sediment that is in all systems to start moving around your central heating system.

What is a magnetic filter?

A magnetic filter is a device installed in your heating system to capture and remove metal debris, preventing it from clogging your boiler and radiators. It helps improve the efficiency and lifespan of your heating system. All of our new boiler installations come with a free magnetic filter.

Do you install boilers in flats?

Yes we do. If your flat is above the second floor please give us a call on 0330 822 2795 as we'll need to ask you some additional questions. Alternatively you can start a live chat with us by clicking on the green circle in the bottom left of the screen. If access equipment is required we'll try our best to help.

04. Installation

What time will the installer arrive?

Your installer will be with you between 7.30am and 10.00am on the day of your installation. If that changes we will let you know.

Will the installer take away my old boiler?

Yes we will take away your old boiler unless you ask us not to. The only other situation where we cannot take it away is if your old boiler contains asbestos.

If your old boiler does contain asbestos (or your not sure if it does) give us a call on 0330 822 2795 and we can help check. If it does we can discuss how to arrange an asbestos specialist to safely remove the boiler before your new installation takes place.

Will you take away the packaging?

Yes. Before the installer leaves they will take away the packaging that your new boiler and its accessories came in. They'll also clean up and check that you are happy with everything.

05. After care

What do I do if I smell gas?

If you smell gas or suspect a gas leak in your home, quickly open all windows and doors and do not turn on any electrical equipment or lights. Doing this can create a spark and cause a fire.

Once you are safely outside, call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. An engineer will come to your address to ensure your boiler and other gas appliances are safe.

Do you offer service plans?

No, we don't offer service plans currently. There are a number of companies that do as well as your local gas engineer.

Do I need to register my warranty?

No, we will register your warranty with the manufacturer. They will then send you a warranty certificate. It's important to remember to ensure the warranty remains valid you need to arrange to have the boiler services once a year.

Do I need to have my boiler serviced every year?

Yes. Make sure you have your boiler serviced once a year by a Gas Safe registered engineer. This is also required to keep your warranty valid.

What do I do if my boiler breaks down?

First don't panic. Give us a call on 0330 822 2795 and we'll help arrange for an engineer from the boiler manufacturer to get you back up and running as soon as they can.
