Viessmann is considered to be a high-end brand. Generally, Viessmann boiler prices tend to be similar to other leading brands such as Vaillant and Ideal Heating. That said, expect them to be slightly cheaper than a like-for-like boiler from Worcester Bosch.

As an example, their Vitodens 050-W 30kW is priced at around £1,100 on most online plumbing merchants. If we browse the same online plumbing merchants, we see the Worcester Bosch 4000 30kW is priced at around £1,400. 

Most boilers are comparable when it comes to how difficult they are to fit. So, the £300 saving mentioned above is going to directly translate into a saving on your overall boiler installation cost.

You’ll find Viessman’s products in most plumbing merchants and they’re considered a high-end brand. They offer some of the most reliable boilers in the UK.

And this becomes evident firstly, by checking out the warranty on offer. Boiler manufacturers will offer a warranty that’s inline with their unit’s durability. Afterall, they don’t want to foot the bill for repairs. 

An average boiler repair (gas valve, heat exchanger or printed circuit board replacement) is likely to sit somewhere in the region of £350-£500. So, you certainly don’t want to be footing the bill for that repair either.

Vitodens 025

First we'll review the Viessmann Vitodens 025, their entry level combi boiler. With outputs of 24kW and 28kW available, it's suitable for small 1-3 bedroom properties with low hot water and heating demand. 

Warranty on the Vitodens 025 is smaller than the other combi boilers in the range. You'll get a 2-year warranty as standard, but this can be extended to 5-years when registered with Viessmann directly. 

To improve reliability, the Vitodens 025 combi incorporates a stainless steel heat exchanger, which in general, is much more durable than an aluminium equivalent. 

Like many modern boilers, the 025 comes with a power modulation feature (1:5). Put simply, instead of working at full power and constantly cycling on and off, it can modulate power up / down to suit your exact demand. 

This makes it extremely efficient, with a standard seasonal efficiency of 98% (Hs) [gross cv].

Whilst the Vitodens 025 combi offers excellent value for money, we'd recommend the 050-W or 100-W, both of which come with a much longer 10-year warranty.

Vitodens 050-W

A step up from the 025, is the Viessmann Vitodens 050-W combi boiler, available in: 25kW, 30kW and 35kW outputs. That means there's a unit for properties from 1-4 bedrooms, and up to 2 showers. 

Prices for the 050-W combi including installation can vary from £2,500-£3,000. However, we're able to install a 25kW for as little as £2,295 (depending on job complexity). 

Like the 025, you'll get power modulation, BUT, at a ratio of 1:8 (rather than the 1:5 of the 025 Vitodens), helping it to achieve a 92% ErP rating. It also incorporates a stainless steel heat exchanger for extra reliability.  

With a 10-year warranty when fitted by a Dwellow installer and priced as low as £2,295, the Viessmann 050-W combi boiler offers excellent value for money.

Vitodens 100-W

Like the 050-W, the Viessmann Vitodens 100-W comes as a 26kW, 30kW and 35kW unit. And like the 050-W that means it's going to be suited to a 2-4 bedroom property with up to 2 bathrooms. 

The 100-W is one of the most efficient boilers in the Viessmann range, with 94% of fuel being converted to heat. Compare that to older boilers that can be as little as 70% efficient!

And for additional energy savings, you'll want to use your combi alongside the ViCare app. 

This works off WiFi and has dozens of useful features to improve efficiency. As an example, you can set a live GPS location on your phone. Once you're a specified distance away from home (for example, at work), the ViCare app will modulate power down, or turn off your heating completely. 

The 100-W has an easy to use 7-segment LED display, so you'll be able to control your heating and hot water easily.

As you can see in this review, if you want the premium offering in the Viessman combi boiler range, the 100-W is it. It comes with a standard warranty of 10-years, although this can be extended to 12-years by registering the unit with Viessmann.

System Boiler Reviews

Next, we’ll quickly review the Viessmann system boiler range. 

Like the combi boiler range, the Viessmann system boiler range includes both the Vitodens 050-W and the Vitodens 100-W, which we’ve mentioned in detail above. 

The big difference between the two is the level of power modulation, and warranty. 

Power modulation for the 050-W is 1:5, whereas the 100-W is 1:8; you’ll save more money due to increased efficiency by picking the 100-W. 

Warranty wise, the 050-W comes with a solid 10-year warranty. However, the 100-W can be extended to a 12-year warranty. 

Want high efficiency and a long warranty? The 100-W Vitodens is the system boiler for you. 

However, there is one extra unit in the system boiler range; the Vitodens 200-W. 

Typically, this would be the go-to choice for bigger homes. 

The 200-W Vitodens system boiler uses a high-grade MatriX-Plus burner with Lambada Pro Plus Combustion controller and power modulation of 1:17. 

This allows the 200-W system boiler to reach up to 98% ErP efficiency and makes it one of the most efficient system boilers available in the UK. 

The standard warranty offered by Viessmann is 7-years. However, this can be easily upgraded to up to 12-years.

Vitodens 100-W Heat Only

In the heat-only boiler range, you have the 100-W Vitodens. It's a wall-hung heat-only boiler and it’s also compact; small enough to fit inside a kitchen cupboard. 

Outputs available are 11kW, 16kW, 19kW, 25kW and 32kW. So, there's a Viessmann system boiler available for all small to large residential properties in the UK.

Like the other Viessmann premium boilers, it comes with a base warranty of 10-years, with the option to extend to up to 12.

The MatriX-Plus burner helps improve efficiency, but also durability. It also incorporates a long lasting stainless steel inox-Radial heat exchanger. Stainless steel heat exchangers last a lot longer than aluminium!

Viessmann boilers are known for being some of the most efficient in the UK, and the 100-W Vitodens doesn't buck this trend. It achieves up to 98% standard seasonal efficiency!
