Looking for a new combi but not sure where to start?
In our review of the Ideal Logic Max Combi C30, we’ll explain:
The Ideal Logic Max 30kW Combi is suitable for medium sized properties, such as a 3-bedroom semi-detached with 1 shower and around 12 radiators. They offer 3 versions: C24, C30 and C35. So, if you have more or less hot water and heating demand, the C24 or C35 may be more suitable.Being a premium boiler, expect the price of the Logic Max to be around £200 more than low-end boilers. Low-end boilers will come with a warranty that’s as little as 2-years, not to mention they’re not as robust, with prices starting at around £2,300 including installation. Installation costs for the Logic Max are likely to be around £2,500. However, it’ll come inclusive of a 10-year warranty. The feature list of the Logic Max includes, but certainly isn’t limited to:

The Ideal Logic Max Combi boiler comes in a couple of different sizes:
The 30kW unit we’re focusing on for this review is best suited to medium sized properties, whereby only 1 shower is likely to be running at once. As an example, a suitable property would be a 3-bedroom house with 1 shower and approximately 12 radiators. The 30kW version of the Ideal Logic Max supplies 30.3kW of domestic hot water (DHW) output and DHW flow rate of 12.4L at 35ºC. It’s unlikely that this would be able to keep up with the hot water demand of 2 showers. To power 2 showers simultaneously, you’ll need the 35kW Logic Max, which has a slightly higher output of 35.3kW and up to 14.5L flow rate. The flow rate is going to be the deciding factor on whether or not you choose the 30kW versus the 35kW unit. And that’s because their heating output is similar:
Put simply, in terms of powering central heating / radiators, they’ll be able to power similarly sized systems. Boiler sizing can be incredibly confusing. That’s why we’ve made this boiler configuration tool which determines exactly what size Ideal combi boiler you need for your property.

A typical heating and plumbing merchant will sell this unit for £1,300-£1,400 (boiler only). By the time you’ve added copper fittings, a flue, thermostat and labour, the overall installation cost is likely to be in the £2,500-£2,700 range. Installations from Dwellow include:

Below, we’ll cover the top reasons to fit an Ideal Logic Max Combi in your property.
Low-end boilers will come with a warranty of as little as 2-years. Mid-range boilers tend to come with 5-years or more. At the high-end, you’ll get anywhere from 7-10 years. The Ideal Logic Max C24, C30 and C35 all come with a lengthy 10-year warranty. It's always worth paying a small premium for a boiler with a long warranty. And that's simply because boiler repair costs can spiral out of control quickly. Here are a couple of example repairs (and estimated repair costs) for an average combi boiler:
This is exactly what a long boiler warranty, such as the one offered by Ideal on the Logic Max Combi, is going to be protecting you from. All the boilers we fit come with a long warranty. Get prices on the most suitable boiler for your property by using this clickable form here.
Not heard of Ideal Heating?
They’re one of the leading brands in the heating space. They compete directly with Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Viessmann and other leading brands.
Over 90% of consumers on Trustpilot rate Ideal Heating as 5-star, with an average rating of 4.8 from over 52,000 reviews!
Not all combi boilers are considered “compact”. Typically, a compact boiler would be no more than 700mm wide, allowing it to fit in a kitchen cupboard.
The Ideal Logic Max Combi boiler range has dimensions of 700mm x 395mm x 278mm. So, if you need this boiler to fit into small spaces such as a kitchen cupboard, it’s small enough so that can happen!
All Logic Max boilers come complete with Wi-Fi compatibility, and can be used alongside the Halo smart programmable room thermostat range.Using the Ideal app (available on both Apple Store and Google Play), you'll be able to control and monitor your heating and hot water on the move. There's a Halo thermostat for all scenarios and every budget, even for those properties that work by using zoned heating systems.
Old boilers are incredibly inefficient. G-rated boilers are the worst, with energy efficiency sometimes being below 70%. That means for every 1 kWh of gas consumed, they only produce a maximum of 0.70 kWh of heat.
The graphic above from the Energy Saving Trust shows how much you could save if you fitted an A-rated boiler in the place of your old D-G rated boiler. With a seasonal space heating energy efficiency of 94%, you could save up to £290 per year on your heating bills by fitting an Ideal Logic Max Combi.Combine that with the 10-year warranty (protecting you from expensive repair bills), and your savings will more than cover finance repayments if that’s the payment route you take.
